Stampin for the Weekend - Back to the 80's challenge

Hiya peeps and very happy Stampin Friday to you all.  This weeks Stampin For The Weekends challenge is a two fold challenge entitled Back to the 80's with a difference.  We have a combination of any of the three song titles and a color combo.......we wanna see what you can come up with for this one. You only need to use the title for this challenge, not the song lyrics........and the three songs for this challenge are

1. Girls on Film - Duran Duran
2. Dirty Laundry - Don Henley
3. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper
and the color combo is Orange Blue and Purple

Our sponsors for this week is Peachy Keen Stamps and Kathy is very kindly giving a $25 shopping voucher to the lucky winner.

For my card I've gone with the song choice "Dirty Laundry", now to be honest I've never heard of that song but thought this gorgeous lil image from The Greeting Farm, which so happens to be called "Laundry" fitted the bill perfectly.  The wonderfully lovely Tracy over at Dies To Die For has a fantastic range of The Greeting Farm stamps available, (humungous thank yous Tracy for this one....mwah).  She has been coloured with Copics, the papers are a freebie download from Shabby Princess.   I was quick off the mark when it was QVC Craft Day and managed to get me mitts on the Martha Stewart Loop punches before they sold out.......yippeeeeee!!! Tulle from my local Haberdashery store. Prima flowers from Dies To Die For.

We have three lovely guest design team members this week, Gry Heidi, Lil Sis and Aunty Sue have created some beautiful cards for this weeks SFTW challenge, as have the rest of my wonderful team buddies, please pop over to their blogs to check them out.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, look forward to you taking part in this weeks SFTW challenge,
take care, luv 'n' hugs xx vicki xx

Friday Sketchers

Hiya folks, hope your all having a stress free half term so far....gosh today has flown, I just hope the rest of the week doesn't go as quick....don't want to go back to work...booo hoooo!!!! lol!!

Anyways, I've been having a lil play with the gorgeous kit that the ever so lovely Tracy from Dies To Die For sent me, huge thank yous once again Tracy...((((hugs)))).  For the first card I've followed the sketch for this weeks Friday Sketchers challenge.

The cardstock is Bazzill.  The beautiful papers are My Minds Eye "Colourful Christmas", they certainly live up to their name, I love them, makes a change from the traditional colours.  The images and sentiment is from a really cute set by CC Designs Sugarplum Snowy Scenery, I've coloured them with Copics and added lots of coloured glitter and Glamour Dust, but unfortunately the piccie doesn't do it any justice as in real life it's all sparkly and twinkly.
Now I know I may sound a tad biased but honestly if you've never bought from Tracy at Dies to Die For before, I can't recommend her highly enough, Tracy's offers fantastic service with such speedy delivery too, she's a lil gem, so if you've ever hesitated from buying over the internet before you won't be disappointed with Dies To Die For.

OMG!!!! I am inundated with card orders at the moment.....don't get me wrong it's so lovely that people are ringing me with orders but they all want those tri-fold cards with boxes that take forever to make, my MIL rang me earlier, she wants 3 so in total I have 7 to make by the weekend......oh eck...anyone fancies coming over to my house to help me out.....lol!!!!  TTFN xx vicki xx

April - Martini Girl

Hiya folks and a very happy Monday to you all.  Just thought I would show some cards that I've made over the weekend, plus one I made weeks ago and forgot to post.....doh!!!

I love this Rubber Romance image, April the Martini Girl is so appropriate for many special girly occassions.  I bought her from Tracy at Dies to Die For a while ago now but  Tracy still has a great selection of Rubber Romance stamps available HERE.

April has been coloured with Copics.  The papers are from MME "Laundry Line" available from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie OMG!!! I could hardly bare to tear these up as they are all glittery and sparkly....here I go again......lol!!!!  The flowers are a mix of Primas, the roses are from Hobbycraft.  Dew Drops and Lace from my stash, Stampin Up sentiment.

This card is an order from a lovely lady Jean, she always rings me with orders but the funny thing is, she's a crafter herself and has just treated herself to the new electronic Big Shot, but she's not into stamping.......yet.......which is why she rings me to make her cards.  I popped over her house yesterday and she has a box filled with beautiful cards that she has made, she enjoys decoupage and the Glitter Girls embossing boards.  The papers for the card below I only received on Saturday from Jules. it's not like me to use my new papers so quickly, well you know what I'm like with lovely papers......lol!!!  They are from the new Stampin Up catalogue and gosh they are delish.  Prima swirl gems and again April has been coloured with Copics.

This card I made ages ago and it's for a very close friend of mine, Sarah, we've been friends since we were 3 and now I can't believe she is 40.  April has again been coloured with Copics, the papers are a freebie download from Summertime Designs. Prima gems.

And here's what the inside looks like.  I may have gone just a tad overboard with the Prima swirly gems.....lol!!!

Gosh that was a long post, sorry if I've bored you all rigid, I'll leave you all get on with your day.  I'm just having a lil break from the dreaded Monday housework.....what a way to spend my day off hey!!!! Take care all xx vicki xx

Sunday, 11 October 2009

hello.....again

Well can you believe I'm here again....I've gone from having no mojo to the complete opposite.  Mind you I did make these cards a couple of days ago for two very good crafting friends over on the Do-Crafts Forum, Hilary and Patricia,  just a shame they arrived after their birthdays

Both Miss Anya's have been coloured with Copics, the papers on the card below are Bo Bunny, I love these papers but never get around to using them, you know how it is with us crafters and stroking papers.....lol!!!!

The papers on the card below are a mix of Stampin Up and Basic Grey Lemonade, mmmmmm love those ones too, oh what are we like with our obsession for lovely papers....pmsl. sentiment is Stampin Up.

Just in case you were wondering where I purchase my Stampin Up stash from, just pop over to Jules' blog, she is a fabby Yorkshire Lass, who knows a thing or two about Stampin Up products, so if you ever want/need anything, I know she'll only be too happy to help

I've got some more cards to show, some I've made today and some I made weeks ago, but forgot to put them on my blog.  So I shall be back sometime tomorrow with them.  Gotta dash, we haven't had our Sunday dinner yet, I've left that up to hubby and he's dishing it up as I type.  See ya soon, lots of luv xx vicki xx

Stampin for the Weekend is back...yay!!!!!!

Due to Donna's ill health and the tragic death of Kimmi's brother, SFTW was put on hold but I am so glad to tell you all that our lovely Stampin for the Weekend challenge blog is back to our usual Friday slot. So this week theme is a colour challenge.  We'd like you to create a project using the colours

ORANGE, BROWN and LEAFY GREEN

Our sponsor Heidi from Simon Says Stamp has once again very generously donated a $25 gift token for the lucky winner to spend.

We have two fabby guest designers this week, Sue and Jerusha have created the most gorgeous cards, thank you ladies for joining us at SFTW

So here's my lil card.  D'ya know I received my Manga stamps over a month ago and what with one thing and another I've not had chance to ink them up, apart from this one, the other two are still in their sealed packs....I love these Basic Grey "mellow" papers so appropriate for this weeks colour challenge. The edges have been distressed, then machine sewn. The sentiment is Stampin Up , corner punch with some pearly gems which Michelle kindly gave me as a birthday present along with a huge bundle of delish crafting goodies, thank you again Michelle for your wonderful present.

This is the first card I have made in almost three weeks, my craft room has well and truly been neglected, it's was really hard to get back into the swing of things, so to speak but I hope to be back soon with some more cards, as I still have some orders to make.

Don't forget to check out my lovely SFTW teamies creations, they've all come up trumps again this week, well done girlies.  Unfortunately Donna is still poorly, (I hope you make a speedy recovery sweetie and take time out for yourself, you deserve it chick).  I like to say a huge thank you to Kimmi for organising the return of Stampin for the Weekend, after all she has been through, this lady is a true inspiration to everyone..((((((HUGS)))))))

Well my fab lil hubby is the BIG 40 today, (happy birthday chunk), so lots of celebrations going on today and over the weekend, I just can't believe he's 40...I'd better be careful cos he'll only get me back next year....lol!!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, lots of love 'n' crafty hugs xx vicki xx

Sunday, 4 October 2009

Hiya folks.......

........sorry for not being around lately, been a bit down and in a rutt, plus  I seem to be forever taxiing my kiddies here there and everywhere, I'm shattered all the time and I've been neglecting the dreaded housework for so long that it has got me down, so I've been trying to catch up with everything around here.   I've not been in my craft room for almost a fortnight, my Mojo has emigrated and can you believe that I went into town on Friday and bought (gasp, shock, horror) 6 birthday cards,  I just didn't have it in me to make any.....omg!!! that's the first time in over 2 years that I have bought any cards......oh the shame....there my big confession to you all......lol!!!! I have a couple of orders for cards to make, goodness knows how I'm gonna make them, so if anyone has any spare mojo's around, please send them my way.....lol!!!  On a happier note, my luvly  blogging buddy and fellow taffy (Welsh) friend Clare asked if I would be interested in going to the NEC with her in November.....well of course I couldn't refuse, I've always wanted to go but never made it, so I was chuffed to bits when she suggested it and now I so can't wait.   I hope I'll be back to normal soon, in the meantime take care all, loads of love and hugs...mmmmmwaaahhhhh xx vicki xx
