Something completely different .........

..... hiya folks, I mentioned a few months ago that I was taking GCSE Art at the school I work, well that's all changed now and I'm taking A Level ( I must be bonkers.... pmsl), drawing isn't my strong point and that's a massive understatement.... lol!!!!!  I'm looking at the work of Amadeo Modigliani, (mainly cos his portraits are fairly simple to draw).  I'm also looking at Mixed Media artists too.

This is one of my paintings inspired by Modligliani, incorporating some Mixed Media. It's a 10" x 8" canvas board.  I've used K & Co papers for the background, bubble wrap prints. My lady was painted with a mix of Acrylic paint and Caran D'Ache Neo II water soluble crayons.  I've added some tulle for texture, lots of Gesso and a die cut butterfly for added interest.

I may start another blog with my Mixed Media Art interests and journalling. There are so many incredible blogs out there with amazingly talented artists, I have to say that Peggy, over at The Bliss Factory is one of my favourites, her work is truly awesome, not to mention inspirational.

Well that's my lil something completely different, I would love to know what you think, if you hate/dislike it please don't hesitate to let me know as all critism is very welcome.

Thanks for popping by my lil oasis

Hiya luvly peeps, well I guess I am not the only one who has a ton of stamps just collecting dust somewhere in their craft rooms.......mmmmmm.....just think of all those lil characters that don't see the light of day anymore......oh bless 'em.  So when I was asked to make a card for a 12 year old Grandson who plays the guitar, I remembered this lil guy, trouble was I couldn't remember where I'd put him....so I went hunting through everywhere and found soooooo many stamps that I've not used in yonks, not to mention quite a few that have not even been taken out of their packaging let alone inked up.....shame on me.....but I think your reading this and thinking exactly the same aren't you....go on admit it.....lol!!!!!!

So onto the card, which I am entering for this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenge, their theme is "Blue & Green"

Goodies used were:-

Image -Sugar Nellie "Luca with guitar"

Helloo crafty folks, well here I am again with another card ......  you can tell I am still on my Summer Hols, I would never normally create this many if I were at work.....which I am counting down the days....another 9 more days left......boooo hooooo!!!

For todays card, I've used my new stamp, Romantic Tilda, isn't she the prettiest lil thing, I have had her for a couple of weeks and only now inked her up...ooooppppsss!!!  I've coloured her with Distress Inks and added lots of Stickles.  The pretty papers are Prima "Annalee".  Melissa Frances rub-ons.

This card seems to fit the bill for the Just Magnolia "Sentimental" challenge. Stamp with Fun "Card for a Girl.  City Crafter "isn't she lovely" (very appt)

I wasn't sure which piccie to show, so I put up both, mind you neither of them do any justice :-(

Tilda & Edwin - Loving Wishes

Good evening crafty peeps, oh it's so quiet in this house, hubby has taken the girlies out for a couple of hours, to give me some peace......oh what bliss...lol!!!  I recieved my copy of the new Magnolia Ink magazine yesterday and it dawned on me that I've not used any of my new Magnolia stamps.....(oh the shame of it), so I've been playing most of the afternoon and made four Magnolia cards.

This is the first one, which I am going to enter into the "Blue & Cream" challenge over at The Secret Crafter blog, also Totally Tilda's challenge is "sewing".

I've coloured the happy couple with Distress Inks, then masked them off and stamped the Magnolia script stamp over them, than spritzed the image with Glimmer Mist.  The papers are Stampin Up, and sewn with my sewing machine. Nesties Label 10 available from Dies To Die For, as is the Martha Stewart border punch.

Well the troups should be due home soon, so I think I'd better go have a quick tidy up...don't want them thinking I've been crafting all the time they've been out.........as if I would do such a thing......pmsl.

Gone Fishin'

Hiya peeps, well here I am again today with another card, gosh I am doing well.  I've made this card with this weeks High Hopes "Water" challenge.

I've coloured the High Hopes "Time Well Spent" image with Copics and added a lil Glossy Accents.  The papers are a mix of Basic Grey "Marakesh" and Doodlebug "Prints Charming", Nesties Label 10 available from Dies To Die For.  The sentiment is also High Hopes ( Pals is a Melissa Frances Rub-on).  The orange net is from my fridge....I knew those onions would come in handy for something other than cooking....lol!!!

Rightyho, gotta dash, our house is in an awful state, the work still hasn't finished yet since we had that water leek back in January, huge saga with the builders, they left us high and dry in April because I complained about the way they laid our flooring, thankfully after months of battling, getting a solicitor involved plus another loss adjuster, they have finally returned this week to finishoff the work they started the beginning of the year.....so you can imagine how stressed it's been here but at least the work is now back on track......I so can't wait to have my dining room back and second lounge.....no more eating our meals on our lap in the lounge......

Thanks for visiting my lil oasis
happy crafting all

My first stationery set

Hiya folks, well so much for me keeping on track with my blog hey!!!!  But the good news is that I have been  busy making lots of cards and will be popping them on my blog over the next few days or so.

I've been wanting to make a stationery box for so long now and after watching many videos on You Tube, voila.  I thought I'd also enter this into this weeks "Vintage" theme over at Just Magnolia.

Below is a picture of the entire set, which comprises of the stationery box, notelet set, box of gift tags and a matching birthday book.  It did take me forever to make, just because I always do things the difficult way and never make life easy for myself......lol

The inside of the stationery box holds the birthday book, large paper clip bookmarks, tags, postage stamps, a small address book and pen.

The papers are Anna Griffin, Tilda has been coloured with Copics which are available from the lovely Tracy over at Dies To Die For.

The wanderer returns

OMG!!!!!!!!!  I can't believe how long it's been since I was here last, almost forgot how to upload a post .....lol!!!!  Well where do I begin ?  Firstly humungous apologies for not being around for the best part of four months.  It all started back in March when we had an awful ordeal with our eldest son, some of you know what happened but I am glad to say that he is back on track and we are all so very proud of him.  Then I decided to decorate the house from top to bottom......hhhhmmmmm.....big mistake cos we are nowhere near finished.  Plus I've only got and landed myself with doing Art GCSE at work, (working as a Art Technician at a local secondary school) and that has taken up quite a lot of my time lately but I am really enjoying it.

Now I've not made any cards since the end of March, I've got a few to show you from then, so I'll begin with these Magnolia's.

The Prima flower and Martha Stewart order punch can be found at the best online craft store that is Dies To Die For.

I am hoping to get back into the swing of things now and I really must send a massive apology to Tracy over at Dies To Die For for not being much of a DT support also loads of love and huge hugs to her too xxxxxxx.

Rightyho, I will do my best to catch up with all your wonderful blogs, mind you it may take me a while so bare with me.
lots of love and crafty hugs

My lil lad is 18 today......omg!!!!!

Hiya folks, happy Friday to you all.  I've not posted any cards at the mo, I will be back lately as I've made loads over the last few days.  Just wanted to wish my lil boy Tom a very Happy 18 th Birthday, I can't believe how quick these years are flying by, seems not that long ago that I was celebrating my 18th, crikey do I feel old now......lol!!!!!   Here's a lil piccie of Tom with the lovely girlfriend Becca,  I must get a more recent piccie of these two together, think this was taken last Summer and Tom has aged since then.....hehehehe!!!!!!!

Today is kind of bittersweet as it's also 14 years ago today that my mum passed away.  Usually when it's the lead up to Toms' birthday I get really upset, I think this year is the first year that I feel normal, maybe because it's such a special birthday for Tom, I know it's been 14 years since my mum passed away but I think it's something you never get used to, no matter how long its been, you just learn to cope I suppose. March is my worst month, what with the Anniversary of mums death, plus Mother's Day, it's also my mum & dad's wedding anniversay on the 18th and mum's birthday on the 26th, so far I'm doing ok but roll on April.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
take care, luv 'n' crafty hugs
