Stampin' for the Weekend challenge #10

Hello peeps, a very happy Friday to you all. It's week 10 of our Stampin for the Weekend challenges and today is a very special day for me, as it's a challenge set by me in the form of a sketch. This is a first for me, never before have I drawn a sketch, so I thought I'd better keep it simple mainly because I am hopeless at drawing.....lol!!! But first check out the prize that's up for grabs, our sponsor this week are Sir Stampalot.
The lucky winner will recieve the fabby stamp set below.....
Ok so here it is, this weeks sketch challenge set my lil ole me...lol!!
But just look what my very lovely, not to mention ever so talented teamie Mum at SFTW Donna has done to my feeble drawing, doesn't it look so professional, thanks my luvly you did a brill job for me......mwah!!!!

And here's the card I made. I've used those scrummy Basic Grey "granola" papers. The image is from Sugar Nellie, which has been coloured with distress inks, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The sentiment and oval punched shapes are from Stampin Up. Flowers from my stash and the roses I always purchase from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to my lovely Stampin' for the Weekend team buddies for creating such gorgeous cards with my sketch, they have all done me so proud. Please check out their blogs and see for yourselves.

Well Donna and Kimmi have had a very busy week this week. There is even more exciting news to follow over at the Stampin' for the Weekend blog, our new stampin' family members will soon be revealed, I so can't wait to find out myself. We had over 100 entries for our DT and GDT call, wow!!! thank you to everyone who applied.

We are off to West Wales for a few days, well that is hubby, myself, Georgia & Yasmin. Tom and Ryan don't want to come, they're 17 & 15 and it's so not cool to go on hols with the parents....pmsl . It's the first time we have left them on their own....oh eck....I'm dreading what state the house will be in when we get back, especially as all I've done this week is ironing and spring cleaning.....I've warned them NO parties...pmsl. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

ttfn, luv 'n' hugs

for my daughters teacher

Well talk about a last minute creation. It was 11 pm the evening before the last day of term, when I realised I hadn't got anything for Georgia's teacher. So this is what I made for her, not bad really considering how late it was when I started and not to mention finishing them at gone 2am.
The lil notepad was made using my BIA machine. The papers are papermania retro florals. Tilda has been coloured with distress inks and Prima flowers to finish off the card.

Just to remind you all about the Stampin for the Weekend design team member and guest design team members call. We are now looking for 4 lovely creative peeps to join our happy lil crafting family on a permanent basis. Just click HERE to find out more.

Thanks for visiting my lil oasis. The weather here in South Wales is appauling, when is this dreadful rain going to stop. I hope you all have a lovely weekend, despite the rain.

Stampin for the Weekend - Week 9

Hello everyone, it's week 9 of our challenges over at Stampin for the Weekend and this weeks sponsor, Susie of Die Cut Dreams, Susie offering a lovely prize worth 20.00 of die cuts. Our theme this week is ALTERATIONS

This week's SFTW challenge is to take an item that you either have in your home or have bought to "alter in some form" by decorating it, ie a tin, jar, book, binder, box, clipboard, etc.

So here is a piccie of the washing up powder box and empty Yankie Candle Jar Before..

This is what they turned out like. I am now using the box for all the stamped images my lovely blogging buddies have sent me. The lil jar houses lots of flowers.

Here's some more boxes that I have covered. I bought a few rolls of wrapping paper a while back, which came in very handy.

My lovely teamies have come up with some very imaginative creations, so why not check out their blogs to see for yourself. Many thanks to Suzie for being our Guest Design Team member for these past two weeks, it has been a pleasure having her aboard, her creations are so wonderful, so thank you Suzie.

I think this is weeks SFTW theme going to be such a fun challenge, I can't wait to see what all you clever crafters will come up with.

I also want to say a humungous thank you to my amazing teamie Kimmi, who came to my rescue last night. My computer has crashed and I've lost everything...yep...photos, scrapbook downloads, digi downloads, the lot. So I was in a right pickle trying to schedule this post, cos I didn't have any photos, but the lovely Kimmi sent me these in an e-mail so I was able to pop some piccies on to show that I have done this weeks challenge.....lol!! Thank you so very much Kimmi, your a lil gem...mwah....

***UPDATED *** My clever hubby came home from London yesterday evening and has managed to restore my computer to how it was, phew what a relief. I was in such a state of panic when my computer initially crashed, so well done Steve....you come in handy now and again......lol!!!

have a lovely weekend all, ttfn xx vicki xx

a lovely award......

I have received this lovely award from my amazing Stampin for the Weekend teamie, Kimmi. Thank you so very much Kimmi for thinking of me to pass this onto. For those who don't know Kimmi, she is one courageous young lady, who has been through a tremendous amount for such a young age. Kimmi is undergoing chemo at the moment, but her drive, determination and high spirit is so inspiring, I honestly admire everything about this wonderful young lady, she is truly amazing.
I have met some wonderful friends in blogland so choosing who to pass this award onto is difficult but here goes:-

Zoe, Claire, Caroline, Vicky, Kerry, Jill, Jilli, Natalie and Julie.

p.s. Just to say that the squirrel situation is now under control. The little devils had chewed through our water pipes in the loft eaves, which lead to my craft room ceiling, the study ceiling and Yasmins bedroom ceiling dripping with water. Yasmins bedroom was the worst as her ceiling completely caved in, but thankfully it has been fixed just waiting for the plasterer to come, then I can re-decorate it. Poor Yasmin was hysterical when it happened, she had just come out of the shower and was going into her bedroom when the water was gushing through the ceiling, but is now a happy lil bunny cos I have promised her new curtains, bedding etc. Thank you for all your kind regards.
